Farmhand TEST

Job Summary: The farmhand assists the farmer in all aspects of running a small working farm including animal care, landscaping, harvesting crops, building maintenance, equipment repair and general labor tasks. The position requires a great deal of physical activity and can be seasonal depending on the needs of the farm.

Job Responsibilities:

• Animal Care - feeding, watering, milking, cleaning pens and stalls;
• Landscaping – mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding gardens;
• Harvesting Crops – picking fruits and vegetables for market or personal use;
• Building Maintenance – painting, repairing fences, cleaning out buildings;
• Equipment Repair – fixing tractors, mowers, trucks and other machinery used on the farm;
• General Labor – loading and unloading items from trucks, helping move large objects, assisting with special projects as needed.
  
  Qualifications:
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
• Valid driver’s license preferred;
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as tractors, mowers, etc. not required but considered a plus;
• Experience with animal care also considered a plus;
• Be able to work independently with little supervision while maintaining attention to detail;
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check;
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work;
• Must be flexible to work varying shifts and weekends when necessary.
